Aunt Barbara’s Hot Water Cornbread
Ingredients
- 2 cups Yellow Cornmeal
- 1 tsp Sugar
- 2 cups Holy Water* *to make Holy Water you have to boil the “Hell” out of it!
- 1 tbsp All Purpose Flour
- Salt to taste
- Oil for frying
Instructions
- Mix dry ingredients well
- Add Holy Water* to form a dough
- Heat your oil
- Wet both hands in cold water
- Put a scoop of dough in palm of hand
- Roll in both hands until a pone is formed
- Drop pone in hot oil and fry until bread browns and floats to top
- Remove from oil and place on paper towel to drain
